In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel upended the norms of perfumery with the creation of N°5. A radical creation that revolutionised the traditions of its era. A fragrance turned icon, a design piece whose bottle and label are distinctly identifiable. N°5 celebrates 100 years of celebrity in 2021. To mark the occasion, CHANEL has restyled the fragrance label, embossing it with Gabrielle Chanel's lucky number in silver.
A biodegradable paper pulp case hugs the distinctive shape of the bottle and is sealed with a wax stamp, an allusion to baudruchage, the unique craftsmanship of CHANEL fragrances.

N°5 L’EAU, the most contemporary interpretation of N°5, radiates citrus like sun-drenched honey. Top notes of lemon, mandarin and orange are propelled skyward by aldehydes, followed by a profusion of flowers. Rose melds with airy jasmine and a new fraction of ylang-ylang that is more modern than ever. Behind this floral whirlwind, vetiver and cedar impart a novel dynamism, softened by white musk notes. Never has N°5 been so fresh.

Olivier Polge, CHANEL In-house Perfumer-Creator, has reinvented N°5, demonstrating the extent to which its flawless structure is an inspiration. By striving to create a new balance with an ideal dose of freshness, he in turn captured the essence of his generation.
